Are you between the ages of 6 and 12, curious, adventurous, and crazy about ships? Then the Kidsclub Buffeltje is perfect for you! During school holidays, we open the doors of the impressive *Buffel* ram-turret ship especially for children on Wednesdays. It’s a day packed with adventure, stories, games, and discoveries aboard a real naval ship!

Why a Kids’ Club on the Buffel?

The *Buffel* is no ordinary ship—it is a piece of living history. Here, you can discover what life on board was like in the past: how sailors worked, slept, ate, and collaborated to keep the ship on course.
Through the ‘Buffeltje’ Kids’ Club, we aim to introduce young visitors—in a playful way—to a world filled with adventure, technology, and tales of the sea.

We believe that connection and a sense of wonder are key: experiencing things together, making discoveries, and truly feeling the history.

What do we do during the Kids Club?

“Holiday Wednesday” is all about games, fun, and discovery. There is a different theme each time—sometimes exciting, sometimes educational, but always fun!

A selection of the activities on board:

• Scavenger hunts throughout the ship—solve riddles, find hidden clues, and save the *Buffel*!
• Mini-experiments and workshops—learn to tie knots like a real sailor, build your own mini-ship, or discover how steam power worked.
• Stories and legends—listen to tales of daring naval heroes, pirate myths, and life at sea.
• Tours especially for children—our guides share fascinating facts and show you the ship’s secret corners.
• Games on deck—tug-of-war, Morse code puzzles, nautical quizzes, and other maritime challenges.

And of course, all Kids Club members receive their own *Buffeltje* passport, where they can collect stamps and badges for every activity.

Who is the Kids’ Club for?

Kidsclub Buffeltje is designed for children aged 6 to 12 who love adventure, stories, and technology.
You don’t need to be a member—you can simply drop by on our holiday Wednesdays.

Parents, grandparents, or guardians are, of course, more than welcome to watch, take photos, and soak up the atmosphere on board.

When?

The Kids Club takes place on the first Wednesday of school holidays, from 1:30 PM to 4:00 PM.
There is a new theme each time, so no two days are alike!

Access

Participation in Kids Club activities is free with a regular museum visit.
On your first visit, you receive your own ‘Buffeltje’ passport as a gift—and if you come back, you can earn ranks and badges!
